About us

Atlanta's repair shop on wheels

Atlanta Mobile Mechanic brings the repair shop to you. Instead of losing a morning to a drop-off, a ride across town and a call saying your car won't be ready until tomorrow, you get a mechanic at your door with a fully stocked service vehicle. We work in driveways in Kirkwood and Grant Park, apartment lots in Midtown and Brookhaven, office parks in Sandy Springs and Alpharetta, and just about anywhere in between where it's safe to work.

Every visit starts with a phone call. Tell us what the car is doing and a mechanic will ask the right questions, give you a straight answer on what it most likely needs, and quote the job before anyone picks up a wrench. If parts are needed, we pick them up from suppliers around the metro on the way to you, so most repairs are finished in a single visit.

We know what Atlanta does to a car: long crawls on the Downtown Connector, steep intown hills, summers that bake batteries, spring pollen that clogs filters, and the rare ice storm that shuts the whole city down. That local experience comes with every job, along with honest advice about what needs fixing today and what can safely wait.

What we fix

Repairs we bring to your driveway

Most of what a neighborhood shop does can be done right where your car is parked. These are the jobs Atlanta drivers call us for most.

  1. Brake repair

Pads, rotors, calipers and brake fluid. Stop-and-go miles on I-285 and steep intown streets wear brakes faster than open highway, so squealing, grinding or a soft pedal is worth a call right away.

  2. Battery testing and replacement

Atlanta heat is harder on batteries than cold is. We test the battery, starter and charging system together, then install a new battery on the spot if yours is done.

  3. Starters and alternators

Clicking, slow cranking, dim headlights or a battery light on the dash. We pinpoint which part actually failed and replace it right there, with no tow.

  4. Check engine light diagnostics

We read the codes, test the system they point to and explain the problem in plain English, including whether it will keep you from passing Georgia's emissions test.

  5. A/C repair and recharge

Warm air, weak airflow or a hissing noise? We check for leaks, test the compressor and recharge the system so you aren't sweating through a July commute.

  6. Cooling system and overheating

Radiators, hoses, thermostats and water pumps. Overheating in summer traffic is one of the most common breakdowns in Atlanta, and it can wreck an engine if it's ignored.

  7. Oil changes and maintenance

Oil and filter changes, fluid top-offs, wiper blades and factory-scheduled maintenance, done in your driveway while you work, sleep in or watch the game.

  8. Belts and hoses

Squealing serpentine belts, cracked or swollen hoses and timing belt inspections, replaced before they leave you stuck on the side of GA 400.

  9. Suspension and steering

Struts, shocks, control arms, tie rod ends and sway bar links. Potholes and patched pavement around the city take a steady toll on all of them.

  10. No-start and electrical problems

Car won't start, keeps stalling or has warning lights acting strange? We trace the cause, from corroded cables and bad grounds to blown fuses and failing relays.

  11. Filters, spark plugs and tune-ups

Engine and cabin air filters, spark plugs and ignition coils. After pollen season, a fresh cabin filter alone can make a noticeable difference inside the car.

  12. Pre-purchase inspections

Buying a used car from a private seller or a small lot? We meet you at the car and inspect it top to bottom before you hand over any money.

Don't see your repair here? Call and ask. If it can be done safely on-site, we'll do it.

How it works

Three easy steps

Getting your car fixed in Atlanta shouldn't take your whole day.

  1. Step 1

    Call us

Call (404) 856-5937 and tell us the year, make and model and what the car is doing. We'll ask a few questions, tell you what it likely needs and quote the job up front.

  2. Step 2

    Pick a time and place

Choose a time that works and tell us where the car is: home, work, an apartment lot or a parking deck with room to work. Same-day appointments are often available.

  3. Step 3

We fix it on the spot

Your mechanic arrives with the tools and parts, makes the repair, shows you what was replaced and checks the car with you before leaving.

Local know-how

What Atlanta does to your car

Every city wears cars out in its own way. This is what we see most often around metro Atlanta, and what to keep an eye on.

Heat and humidity

July in Atlanta averages about 80°F around the clock, with afternoons regularly near 90 and humidity that makes it feel hotter. Heat speeds up the wear inside a battery, which is why so many fail here in summer instead of winter. It also pushes cooling systems and A/C compressors to their limits.

Traffic that never lets up

Hours of stop-and-go on the Downtown Connector, the Perimeter and GA 400 mean constant braking and idling. Brake pads, rotors and transmission fluid wear out faster in that kind of driving than on open highway, and engines run hotter creeping along in July.

Hills and rough pavement

Atlanta sits at about 1,050 feet in the Piedmont foothills, and many intown streets roll up and down steep grades. Add potholes and patched asphalt, and struts, tie rods, tires and alignment take a beating year-round.

Pollen season

Every March and April, tree pollen coats cars yellow-green from Buckhead to East Point. In March 2025 the metro count hit a record of more than 14,000 grains per cubic meter. That dust clogs cabin and engine air filters and works its way into wiper blades and A/C intakes.

Summer storms and red clay

Atlanta gets about 50 inches of rain a year, and afternoon thunderstorms flood low streets fast. Worn wipers, bald tires and leaky door seals show up quickly, and Georgia's red clay finds its way into wheel wells, brakes and undercarriages.

The rare ice storm

Snow and ice don't come often, which is exactly why they cause so much trouble. When a winter storm hits, weak batteries, worn tires and old wiper blades all get exposed at once, as anyone stuck on the interstates during the January 2014 storm remembers.

Georgia emissions

Check engine light on before your emissions test?

If your car is registered in one of the 13 metro Atlanta counties, it most likely needs an emissions inspection every year before you renew your tag. The test covers most gas-powered cars and light trucks under 8,500 pounds. For 2026 registrations, that means model years 2002 through 2023.

Georgia's test reads your car's computer, so a lit check engine light almost always means a fail. We can come to you before the test, find what's setting the light, make the repair and confirm it stays off. Clearing the code isn't enough on its own: the car needs some normal driving before its self-checks finish, and we'll tell you how much before you head to the testing station.

Georgia's Clean Air Force recommends testing four to six weeks before your renewal date. That leaves time for a repair and a retest without a late tag.

Car care calendar

An Atlanta car-care calendar

A little attention at the right time of year prevents most of the breakdowns we get called for.

  1. March to May

    Spring

Pollen season. Swap the cabin air filter once the yellow dust settles, replace streaky wiper blades before spring storms, and check tire tread for wet roads.

  2. June to August

    Summer

Heat season. Test the battery before it strands you in a parking lot, make sure the A/C blows cold, and watch the temperature gauge in traffic.

  3. September to November

    Fall

October is usually Atlanta's driest month, which makes fall a good time to catch up on brakes, belts, hoses and anything you put off over the summer.

  4. December to February

    Winter

Mostly mild, with cold snaps and the occasional ice storm. A battery weakened by summer often fails on the first cold morning, so test it before the first freeze.

FAQ

Questions Atlanta drivers ask

Straight answers to what people ask us most. Anything else, just call.

Call (404) 856-5937

Do you come outside the Perimeter?

Yes. We work both ITP and OTP, including Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Marietta, Smyrna, Roswell, Alpharetta, Decatur, Tucker and College Park. Call with your address and we'll confirm timing.

Can you work on my car at my apartment complex or office?

Usually, yes. Many Atlanta apartment communities and office parks allow minor repairs, but some don't, so check your property's rules. We need a flat, safe spot with room to open the doors and hood. Parking decks are fine as long as there's clearance.

How fast can you get to me?

Same-day appointments are often available, especially when you call in the morning. Timing depends on the repair, the parts and where you are in the metro.

How much does a mobile mechanic cost in Atlanta?

It depends on the vehicle and the repair, and you'll get a quote over the phone before any work starts. You also skip the cost of a tow and the time of a drop-off. If we find something else along the way, we tell you and quote it before doing anything.

Where do the parts come from?

We buy quality parts matched to your vehicle from suppliers across metro Atlanta and bring them to the job. If you already bought a part, ask us. We can often install it.

Can you fix my car if it won't start?

Yes, and it's one of our most common calls. A no-start usually comes down to the battery, starter, alternator, fuel or ignition, and most of those can be diagnosed and fixed right where the car sits, with no tow.

Do you work in the summer heat and the rain?

We work year-round. On the hottest days we may schedule earlier in the day, and in heavy storms we'll find a covered spot or move the appointment so the work is done safely and done right.

Can you help my car pass emissions?

Yes. If your check engine light is on or the car failed its Georgia emissions test, we can diagnose the cause, make the repair and tell you when the car is ready to retest.

What repairs can't be done on-site?

Jobs that need a vehicle lift or heavy shop equipment, like transmission rebuilds, major engine work or frame repair. If that's what your car needs, we'll tell you straight and point you in the right direction.

What are your hours?

We're open 7 days a week, 7am to 7pm, weekends included. Call (404) 856-5937 to book.
